What will we do at the BRICK ART CLUB?
We'll paint like Picasso, create shapes like Matisse, sculpt like Niki de Saint Phalle, we'll get our hands dirty, we'll recycle paper and print like they used to in the Middle Age... but most important of all, we'll have a lot of fun. JOIN THE BRICK ART CLUB!
Each week will be dedicated to a different topic, might it be an artistic style (es. Paint like an Impressionist) or an artistic technique (es. make your own recycled paper). We'll have contemporary artists as guests in some of our classes and we'll even host a final year exhibition! Additionally, the classes can be held in Greek, English and Italian and are suitable for kids over 3 years old.
What are the goals of the BRICK ART CLUB?
- facilitate each student's expression of their creative propensities, through open-end activities and creative projects
- help the participants to get in touch with more analog and handmade processes, in opposition to the digital world that surrounds us more and more
- training the kids' fine motor skills
- boost flexibility and problem solving applied in practical activities
- facilitate communications and permanence in social settings with other students
- promote the independence of each student, by offering tools to express their individuality and see the result of their work, to consequently increase their self-esteem and confidence
- boost shape recognition, language developement, congnitive skills and emotional expression by studying the work of other artists + reasoning about their own work
- improve the cultural awareness of the kids by exposing them to a vast range of artistic works, from the past but also from the current scene
